The Tigray Regional Health Bureau (TRHB) is the regional government institution responsible for leading, coordinating, regulating, and strengthening the health system in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia.Based in Mekelle, the Bureau works with health facilities, woreda and town health offices, health professionals, communities, government institutions, development partners, and other stakeholders to improve access to quality health services across the region.Our work is guided by the belief that good health is fundamental to the wellbeing, productivity, and prosperity of individuals, families, and communities.

Tigray's health system includes hospitals, health centers, health posts, and other health institutions serving both urban and rural communities. The Bureau plays a central role in coordinating and supporting this system to improve access, equity, quality, and continuity of care.Particular attention is given to reaching communities that face geographical, social, economic, or other barriers to accessing health services.Our goal is to ensure that quality healthcare is not a privilege for a few, but an accessible service for communities throughout Tigray.

In response, the Bureau continues to work with government institutions, health professionals, humanitarian organizations, development partners, and communities to restore and strengthen health services.Recovery is not only about rebuilding facilities.
